In troubleshooting my 318 surge, I found a previous owner replaced the stock carb with what looks like an All-Carb 146-0697.
Big surging at low speeds, choking smooths it somewhat. Runs better at high power setting under load.
Intake manifold looks like it was already reworked, so working low speed jet first.
My CTM2 Onan manual does not cover this carb.
Was planning on popping the top and cleaning.

Questions:
Is there any info available for working on this particular aftermarket carb?
Might the internal parts and gaskets interchange with a stock carb?
Not even sure where the jets are on this or if it cleans the same as an original.
Anyone ever work on one of these?
Should I get a genuine original?

Popped the top today and cleaned the obvious places and holes. Looked around but could not find any jets to pull and clean much less adjust.
Are these fixed, nonadjustable carbs?
Guess I'll have to fire it up to see if the carb was the problem.

In addition to cleaning carb, I changed out all the fuel lines, changed fuel filters, installed new tank grommets and flushed the tank real good. Started up with no surge. Have to put it back together and mow to see how she runs mowing. Also fixed some bad drive linkage slop, cleaned up, de-rusted and painted some of frame and sheet metal. Not quite a full restore but she will look pretty good when done. Will post a pic eventually.
