A fellow called me with a output shaft broke and Deere wont sell the shaft. The will sell him a new different and geaarbox for $1000 and I think he said he would have to replace the stump jumper for another $400. My Son and I have a MX7, I hope this problem is not contagious. This is 3, I heard of in the last 3-4 weeks. Anyone with solutions or know what seems to be the problem? Ken Sweet

What year MX5 Ken? I swear that my 06 MX5 was built with more metal than my 10 MX6. There were a lot more places that I had to clean out after a mow. The MX6 seems to be lacking any bends that hold grass like the older model.

I too hope thats not an issue, especially since I have a decent vibe in a brand new one!

Brian, The customer did not give me the year of Mfg. Hew was basically thinking of buying a new $200 gearbox from me to solve his problems. You are right, The MX7 we have, is designed to shed water and grass clippings and is a lot easier to keep clean. Ken Sweet
