I have a 1999 425 s/n>700001. The key switch is starting to give the signs of failing so replacement is on the horizon. Replacement p/n AM128878 is an assembly and includes the entire module circuit board. I've never had any electrical problems (except, of course, the time delay module) so I'd rather just replace the switch but can't find "just the switch".
Any ideas?
Anyone willing to sell me their faulty module assembly?

If I attempt to crank to start, nothing.... Turning key to home position, then back to crank and it usually starts (or repeating this a few times)

It looks like you have nothing to lose taking the ignition switch apart and maybe cleaning internal contacts. See post 5 ExperimentalMechanic shows it all apart.

Here is what I found when I needed to replace my key switch.
Thanks for posting, this should help someone
