I’ve been saying for years that I would get one of these. Particularly as more and more different things I work on or with have metric size stuff. Going to Get my brother inlaw one to give him on Xmas. No more guess work.

I have been saying the same thing. I have a BUNCH of nuts and bolts I would like to organize and it would be faster than grapping one out of the tray and matching.

Where did you get it and how much was it if you don't mind sharing?

Think I got it on Amazon. If you do a search you will find it. It was about $85.00

Jgay, it’s well made and I liked that it had both metric and standard and I liked the range, reviews and looks. Very happy with quality.

They are great to have! I bough a few of this style (but larger) in metric and SAE, gave some away as Christmas presents a few years ago.

If you are looking for something a bit less expensive that measures bolt/screw
/nut diameter as well as thread sizes and pitches, these plastic ones work great. I’ve been using them for over 10 years and they are less than $10. I keep one in the garage, toolbox, kitchen sink drawer, etc.

Thanks. I could not find that particular one until I used the company name. There was another one that was nice, and cheaper, but some doubt that it was accurate according to at least one reviewer.

On order!

Thanks Jgayman. I have seen those and almost bought one because I wanted to save money, but I would always wish I had the other, so I just did it... My wife is a big organizer and has been helping me sort through all the assorted hardware I have and this will also really help her help me.

That's similar to the ones I have - I like the fact that they are on a flexible cable so I can tuck them into the toolbox without taking up a lot of space. It's another one of those tools that I don't use often, but it saves the day when I need it. Kind of like the tap&die sets.

Has Fastenal returned to selling to the public? Last time I was there, a year or so ago, they had a "new" policy" of selling only to licensed contractors. THAT really pi__ed me off as I'd been doing business with them for 20+ years! Obviously I've haven't been back since so wondering if they woke up and got back to selling to those of us that need hardware for our home and acreage's.

I can't answer that with 100% certainty, it's been a while since I've been there but best guess that was a covid thing.

Even if it wasn't I'm sure they would blame it on that. :)
