I’m thinking about doing the 30 day free trial of Pandora Plus but want to be sure I understand how it works for how I want to use it.

I have an iPhone SE which is a tracfone. I have no cell service where I live and is spotty where I mostly travel.

My truck is a 2015 F150 Lariat which has Sync 2. It has the big navigation screen and has Bluetooth capability.

I have Sirius radio which is great but sometimes don’t find what I want to listen to. I use the free Pandora at home via my Roku unit through my TV and sound bar/subwoofer. I really like the stations I have created and like the mix of related artists it plays automatically. Strange but I have never heard an ad.

So what I want to do - use the Pandora Plus and have it download my 3 most listened to stations to my iPhone which if I understand correctly it will do automatically when on WiFi.

Then I should be able to listen to these stations in my truck from the downloads. This sounds like exactly what I want.

But how do I not let Pandora Access the cell while out and about? I looked in the settings of the iPhone under cellular. I see most all my apps and all have a switch to either turn on or off the cell access for each. But Pandora isn’t listed for some reason. How would I restrict Pandora from accessing cell data?

Any other pros/cons? Opinions?

It should be under settings/cellular/pandora.

If not open up settings and scroll down till you find pandora and check if you have cellular settings in there.

I can turn off cellular data for pandora in both spots.
Maybe you need to update the phone? Check pandora is updated in iTunes. Try and delete and reinstall pandora. You won’t lose your stations. You may have to redownload the stations if you already upgraded to premium.

Sounds like a good idea - I will uninstall and install Pandora again.

It made no sense to me that Pandora wasn’t listed in the cellular data. Then I got to wondering if it wasn’t listed since I didn’t opt for the “plus” subscription yet. Will do that today as I want to try it out for a trip tomorrow.

I am not used to cell phones at all - am hoping it isn’t much of a pain to get it started and working before I leave.....

Just make sure you check those two different spots for the data.
Once you get pandora premium just make sure to check in your iPhone settings and in the pandora app settings to make sure it “automatically” saves the station for offline use.

Also. There is a setting for low quality playback over data. If you play pandora an hour or so a day for 20 days you will use roughly 1/2 a gig a month.

If you have any questions especially about iPhone let me know. Im very knowledgeable about them
