Not from area diesel, but @kenguy of Hydrosplus just sent an email out about their kit.
▪ | Turbo assembly sized based on existing Yanmar turbos for this engine |
▪ | Custom cast exhaust riser with optional pyrometer port |
▪ | Custom exhaust assembly with muffler and optional “test pipe” |
▪ | Revolutionary return oil drain design (Say this in Billy Mays’ voice) |

▪ | New Crankcase Ventilation Recirculation device |
Maybe would take some little modifications I’m kind of tempted to order one one these kits when available for the X748 to see if it will work.Wonder if this would fit on the X series? x595 or x758?
I’m pretty sure he did some videos on using that 1025R with the turbo and pointed out some things he noticed when using the tractor. I got a feeling Area Diesel and him kind of put the idea of selling kit to sleep. I thought this post would get some more attention possible the HydrosPlus kit isn’t TTWT approved? As lazy as tractor Tim is, we will never see a use or review of it. Hell he probably is trying to get his wife to test it.

HydrosPlus Turbo+ for the John Deere 1025R, 1026R and 2025R - 1023E coming soon.
I’m announcing it here, but it’s not going to be on the website for a few more days. Barring any unforeseen delays, it will ship in May. In my last newsletter, I said I was going to start making videos to show you the details, but I made some additional changes to some key components, and I’m just now far enough along that I can discuss with confidence that I won't have to go back and correct anything. Everything is final and we’re just waiting on a few of the key pieces to arrive. To whet your appetite, here’s what’s included.
▪ Turbo assembly sized based on existing Yanmar turbos for this engine
▪ Custom cast exhaust riser with optional pyrometer port
▪ Custom exhaust assembly with muffler and optional “test pipe”
▪ Revolutionary return oil drain design (Say this in Billy Mays’ voice)
▪ Custom silicone intake and air filter plumbing (keeps existing filter housing

I did keep a secret or two that you’ll see in the upcoming videos, but I’m collecting data now and expect it to far surpass emissions compared to the current configuration. I’ll talk more about Tier IV for >25hp in the upcoming videos. No irreversible modifications required, but there is one that is "kind of" irreversible that many will consider if you’re out for max HP.
▪ New Crankcase Ventilation Recirculation device
Initial sale price will be $1,999 to your door in the lower 48 with a slightly higher cost due to shipping for international customers. Discount codes will be applicable and those who pre-order will get a free “test pipe” More on what it is/does in the videos.
It’s cheaper to just buy an engine from John Deere and send it in for testing. I’ve been around carb BS either they got a really bad carb rep or they’re full of crap and stone walling over something. Because if hyrdoplus get his kit out and it works good, they’re done. This is one of those situations where the first one to market will winArea Diesel is going through "CARB" testing (or some similar test) with their kit.
Last I heard, they thought they would have to remove an engine from a 1025R, and send it to the test facility!!!! Crazy. ...and I'm not sure they even get that engine back!!
@kenguy is taking his "usual" approach. ...Full Speed Ahead!
I like the looks of @kenguy 's solution. Not exactly sure how to test it here...since I want to keep one "stock" or sorta stock Johnny. Maybe @kenguy will bring one up here ...then maybe Christy will be able to test it ...per the quote below!
