Artillian Acquisition - a message from Curtis Industries

Green Tractor Talk Members,

Curtis Industries, LLC is proud to announce the acquisition of Artillian effective February 13, 2017. The company will continue to operate under the Artillian name as a division of Curtis. The Curtis team is working closely with Chris to ensure a smooth transition.

Artillian’s workforce has joined Curtis as employees and Chris will continue to provide guidance and new product extensions as we move forward. Be assured that we are committed to providing the innovative products, quality workmanship and exceptional customer service you’ve come to expect from Artillian.

Artillian’s business and product line will remain unchanged. The focus, as always, is to support the current line and develop new and compatible products. Artillian will continue to operate as a direct-to-consumer business via the Artillian website, www.artillian.com.

This acquisition complements Curtis’ current product line of cabs and accessories for tractors and utility vehicles. The sale also met Chris’ goal of aligning Artillian with Curtis, a company with 49 years’ industry experience and a solid reputation for quality products.

Artillian’s inventory and production facilities have relocated 20 miles north to Curtis’ Worcester, Massachusetts location. For more information on Curtis, visit us at www.curtiscab.com.

Integrating computer systems, billing and online transactions is nearly complete. Several of you may have received a call from Peter Virtue, Artillian customer service, to confirm orders and billing information. Please accept our apology for any inconvenience this transition has caused. If you have questions, please call Peter at (508) 476-7210.

Sincerely,

George Psyhojos
President & CEO, Curtis Industries

Very pleased to see this announcement. Great move for Chris . . . and Artillian.

Reminds me of a saying my old boss often used . . . "harder I work the luckier I get"

There's an element of truth there . . . :good2:

Wishing continued good luck to Chris and to Artillian!

Hi All,

Chris here. Sorry for my tardiness and please bear with me. I'm currently recovering from some surgery.

First, please give a warm welcome to Curtis Industries as the new owner of Artillian, LLC. In our discussions, we’ve talked at length about how Artillian came to be as well as our goals for the future. They know all about our commitment to quality, innovation, properly engineered designs, long-lasting construction and that we strive for nothing short of the same reputation that has built John Deere into what it is today.

I believe that Curtis shares our vision and will not only carry Artillian forward with the same ethics, but has the added ability to take us to the next level altogether. Curtis has several resources that have simply been out of reach for us. I look forward to watching Curtis further build upon our humble beginnings right here in the tractor forums due directly to the patronage, support, help, and interest of you all.

For those wondering why this change came about, I received some tough medical news several months ago that forced into question my ability to continue running this demanding company over the long term. The responsible decision was to find a proper successor and Curtis Industries was the obvious choice. I do plan to remain with the company in whatever supporting role Curtis thinks I can be of help and I will also still be a forum member as an individual.

Please let me finish up by saying that I am grateful and proud of Artillian’s employees for their commitment to you all, the customers. It was the result of their hard work that made Artillian worthy of consideration by Curtis.

Thanks, everyone, for the best job I’ve ever had.

Chris

Hi Chris - THANKS for this!! In ALL of my dealings with you (including something SUPER NICE you did for me in the last couple of weeks :good2:), I have found you to be a man of high integrity and ethics. I'm sure that the decision to sell wasn't an easy one, but I'm also confident that you would have only sold "your baby" to a group of people that you sincerely believed were also of high integrity - and that they shared your vision going forward. Based on that, I think that Artillian is going to remain a great company as it moves into the future.

With regards to your medical situation, I wish you the absolute best wishes for a full and speedy recovery! God bless.

It is great to hear from you Chris.

I am one who can attest to how life changing a medical type event can be. I was hoping this was not the case in your business transition. But on the bright side, you will still be involved as much as you can be while watching your "baby" move forward and thrive with Curtis.

My thoughts and best wishes are with you!

Congratulations

Chris,

Praying for your recovery.

Congratulations on a very successful business startup. You created an incredible line of products, and an enviable customer service record.

Curtis is getting not only a wonderful product line, but also a host of satisfied customers eager to tell others about Artillilan products.

Chris:

I hope all goes well with your recovery. I can't add to anything that hasn't already been said. I think about you every time I sit on the seat of my 2320 and see the 54 blade extensions you made.

Thanks for letting us know. I am sorry to hear about your health issues. Keep up the fight and get better. Your products have been top notch and I use them just about every time I fire up my tractor. I could not have done some of the work I have done on my property without them, so thank you.

I look forward to what Curtis will be able to do with your ideas. :bigthumb::bigthumb:

When you look at the market for forks for compact tractors Artillian's are as high as 2x the cost by the time you add a backrest.

Wonder if the new owners have any plans for cost reducing the products?

I'd hope it would be at least part of the consideration as Curtis should try to be as competitive as they can be within the marketplace... that said I would still pay the Artillian price for the quality and weight/strength which I feel is at least double the rest of the competition.
