Hey guys, my Dad's x749 has a leaking power steering cylinder. Before we bite the bullet, I want to try an additive.
I have used Lucas oil hydraulic additive before in an older tractor with good results. It also says it is perfectly safe
in hydrostats. Dad's friend at the parts store tells him that the AT-205 is better at stopping leaky seals but I can't find
any info about whether it is safe for the hydrostat transmission or not. Anybody familiar with this stuff?:unknown:

No experience, but my gut says a new or repaired cylinder is a whole lot cheaper than a transmission.

I would never ever ever recommend any stop-leak product. They do way more damage than they will help. Fix the issue correctly the right way and be done with it. :good2:

No such thing as magic in a bottle. Repair or replace the steering cylinder.
