Hey guys the ball joint on my GX345's steering cylinder broke, and I'm trying to replace it with the new one, but I cannot get the broken one off. Any ideas? I've tried brute force, heating it with a torch, cooling it with CO2, penetrating oil, etc...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Yes, you need two wrenches:

Oh, and I just remembered that one end of the tie rod (at least on my 455) used left-hand threads, so you may be tightening them up!

Thanks guys for at least confirming my thought that it was just a jam nut and not somehow fastened another way. I finally just got it free. I took a torch to it and heated it up really really hot, and it finally broke loose.

Just for everyone's knowledge in the future, the ball joint on the steering cylinder of a GX345 is normal/right threaded. The Jam nut is 3/4" and the ball joint is 5/8".
