Ballast box keeps shifting

So I have had my 2305 for a while now... every time I use the ballast box (only thing I use in the rear so far) and it moves pretty far (between 3-6 inches) right and left. I highly doubt it is supposed to move that much. When the box is in the air I can move it myself that far. How do I tighten it, and is there something majorly wrong with this... I will post pictures.
Also, there is a black metal piece that seems to have one of the arms rub on it. It is angled, but I don't know if the ballast box forced it to angle or if it was supposed to be that way...
Now to sit back and hear from the experts :munch:

Very first photo , remove the ring and tighten the turn buckle go to right side do the same thing, that will keep the ballast box from moving around so much.
As for the plate that is for your mmm lift if using the 3pts for lifting your mower. Just need to make sure your 3pt lift arm is under that angle piece you are pointing to, if not when you put your deck back on deck will not lift.
Hope that helps.

Its a bad design really. The turnbuckles are too close to parallel to the 3 point arms. So you you really have to get them tight.

I took mine apart and using a pipe cutter wacked 3/4" off the inside of the tube that has the loops welded to them. I reassembled and put the short cutoffs on the outside. Basically moving the turnbuckle attachment points towards center. Helped a bunch.

I noticed the same thing and have had the same problem. It is insane that it is designed to have those loops sitting perpendicular to the 3 pt arm. They naturally want to turn the these are showing. But I am not sure I follow the description of your modification. Can you post a picture when you have a minute?

Thanks,

Lee

Mine started out 90 degrees and didn't work so well. I think a lot of guys on forum have turn theirs.

As I mentioned earlier I think it's a poor design on deeres part. When they are 90 degrees from arms the turnbuckles are either trying to loosen the eyelet or tighten it depending on what side they are on.

I know design is not the best, but when I tighten the turnbuckles I make sure they are in center of the eye bolt.
If it is on top or bottom of eye it will turn eye bolt. Know this though experience.
It is a pain in the butt but make sure turnbuckle is 90 to eye bolt and center of the eye bolt. Eye bolt will not turn if the turnbuckle is in center of the eye.
I have been doing this way with all my attachments. I have 3pt snow blower, rototiller and 5' blade and no issues with eye bolts as long turnbuckle is centered.
