I'm thinking about putting another set of cat 1 pins on my Frontier ballast box...maybe 4" lower than the factory pins and 3 or 4" to the rear. I'd put lower holes in the top bracket and maybe cut down a top link. This would allow me to carry the box higher and closer to the tractor, making it a bit less likely to hang up when climbing a bank/dirt pile. I'd leave the factory pins in place, should I ever want to use it with an IMatch.
Any thoughts about why this might not be a good idea? TIA

I think that the lower the ballast box is the better it offsets the load of the FEL. Couldn't you just raise the ballast box slightly when needed?

I'd say that your thought is almost right - it's actually how far back it is that makes a longer lever arm, therefore better offsets the loader.
