You can get the real part (Deere # AM102597) for about 19 cents each...they have an integral washer that keeps the head from pulling through. You need a total of 10 screws.
The license plate nuts are probably your best bet for locally source hardware. There is usually a selection of plastic fastener parts in most hardware stores that might be a better substitute...also can try auto parts/body parts.
