Best place to buy a Baumalight?

2224 Views 12 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Stevo3556
I have been looking at the Baumalight MP560 to do some brush clearing/mulching.

Does anyone have any experience to share with a Baumalight/other make PTO driven brush mulcher?

Does anyone have a Baumalight dealer they have used in the past that they like?

Thanks,
Steve

If you don't see it on their site directly, call them. Use code TTWT or mention TTWT to get a 5% discount.

I've used both the MP348 and MP560 quite a bit. I'm not sure what tractor you have, but I can say that these machines will use up ALL of your tractor's HP.
They will grind and turn trees into toothpicks in just a few minutes, but your tractor will know it!

Tim,

Thanks for weighing in. I watched your video clearing the brush by the antenna tower. I really enjoyed watching it, twice. The most informative video I found on tractor PTO driven mulchers. I watch your videos often and always enjoy and learn from them.

I am sorry, should have said, JD 4044M, but am looking at the 52's and 66's.

I wrote an email to them and called two times and didn't receive a call back in over two weeks. I called a third time and the person I talked to was less than informative. It really made me wonder if buying a Baumalight is the right company for me. Sorry I am sorta frustrated with their support, but I think I like their product, although I am now shopping other brands. I could go on, but it is non productive. Thank you for the discount code, I have used it for JD parts a couple times. If I order it from the company direct, I will try the code.

Do you have a used MP348 or MP560 for sale???

Thank you,
Steve

Are you set on a mulcher? They do a great job, but come with a great price tag.
only asking as I have videos of my low hp tractor brush hogging 6” trees. Might be a more economical option? But if you can afford a mulcher, by all means- that’s the cats meow!

Which company gave you this poor response? Shop green dealer, or Baumalight?

Thanks!

I have the Baumalight 1P24 and i am very happy with it. I bought it thru TTWT's dealer and I ordered it and had it at the local truck dock for pick up in 30 hours. They even had it in Green. We have used it alot this season.

Thanks Bulldog,
I have used a heavy duty shredder, but I would really like to remove the stumps as well. Do you think the small dried out stumps that are left could provide a issue to tire damage when you mow later?

Drifterbike,

Thank you. Have you ever had to contact them for service or other issue? If so did you call them or email? Are you happy with the resolution?

I’d call any stump 3” or less just a bare root. Those would be my concern, as they might be small & sharp enough to puncture? But from my experience I usually smush em flat. Stumps from 4” plus, I would have a hard time believing something so blunt would puncture a tractor tire that doesn’t have other contributing issues (dry rot, weather checked, ect).
so popping a tire? Well, anything is possible I guess?
But I’ll say from my experience, those little buggers are absolutely positively trip hazards!!

just 1 more idea from me to spend your money is. How about a heavy duty brush hog & a stump grinder?

$brush hog + $stump grinder = $mulcher

you’d be out the equal cash, but you’d have 2 toys for the price of 1
🤣🤷‍♂️

Cheers from the Bulldog 👍

Bulldog,

Most of the small trees I will be cutting, 100's, are mostly under other trees. I have been cutting the limbs and dropping them under the tree. Pulling out firewood sized and cutting those up then I had a skid steer with a mulcher come in and mulch the limbs, small trees and vines under the big trees. These small trees are less than 2" I would imagine, so my concern with puncturing tires when I mow with the tractor and shredder to maintain.

I am wanting to mulch myself because the person with the skid steer really tore up the ground and is unresponsive most of the time I call. The county is afraid of burning due to a fire that swept though a city and burned most of it. I also have a BUNCH of small tree limbs that were from trees I removed and cut into firewood that I need to make go away. Tired of waiting on others!

I do have a few larger stumps, all less than 6" that I thought I would mulch.

Thanks for the response. I am open for more suggestions with this added information.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks,
Steve
