Spring cleaning time for my white-painted aluminum horse trailer. I pressure washed the black crud off the fiberglass roof yesterday, and am ready to start on the vertical black streaks on the sides. And I have questions.

1. Preventing or minimizing the black buildup on the roof?

2. Removing the black streaks on the sides?

The manufacturer info says to use 3M rubbing compound on the sides to remove the streaks, and follow with two coats of paste Turtle wax. The manufacturer technique is sure labor intensive. Is there a better way?
