Kenny, how much money will it take for you to build us a grease fitting that will do the drive shaft on the 1025r? I’m ready to go to Deere HQ and demand that the engineers involved come out and grease it on the front lawn.
Boltonhooks can you help me grease a driveshaft?

Is it harder than on the 2025 gen 2? Mine wasn't difficult at all, I lined it up with the hole and used a standard tip on a pistol grip grease gun (manual gun). It only took a few minutes to do.

The grease zerk is not straight on to the access hole on my 2018 1025r, it’s an impossible angle

I have had the same issues scooterman. I have tried many things on the end of my grease gun, flexibile hoses, ridgid tube with standard coupler, Lock & Lube XL and on and on. I know may folks have said they have been successful with one or all of these or other options but none have worked for me either. I am convinced the tolerance stack up on the u-joint, the zerk fitting hole, the driveshaft and not to mention the access hole in the frame make it so on some machines things will line up and others like mine and sounds like yours, the angle of the zerk in alignment with the access hole make it impossible.
My next move was to open up the access hole but thought as a last option I would try the needle point adapter that just depresses the ball in the zerk fitting without having to fit and lock on the zerk. Tractor Tim with Tim has a video somewhere about this. Well by gosh it worked for me! Had to apply some pressure once the tip engaged in the zerk fitting but I did see grease coming from the u-joint seals so I know it worked!

This seems to be one extreme or the other. Some really have a hard time and some don't. Fortunately, my tractor seems to be in the "not hard to grease" category. For that, I am thankful.........
I was able to do it with the extension off of a regular old hand pump grease gun. I took it off the grease gun and added an adapter that came with a lock n lube fitting kit so that I can use my lock n lube (short or long) with it. It's the only thing that I have that worked. The key to it is the bend on the extension pipe (came that way) and that it had a smaller diameter fitting on it. See post #5 here (disregard the brass fittings in the pic, they are not needed):

Has anyone tried to use the Longer LockNLube XL Coupler to reach the grease zerk on the 1025R driveshaft U-joint? I tried the needle dispenser and it would not go into the joint...just made a mess around the grease zerk.

So what you are saying as a designer and seller of "stuff" to make our lives easier you're afraid to run through an unmarked mine field to save us???😎

There is another solution. Take off the lower kick panel under the dash, this allows access to the fitting from the top side with no little hole to line up. The only downside is that it is a bit of a process to get that panel off.

On the 2025R, I cannot get a regular grease gun onto even the rear Ujoint. Cannot even see the front one. JD removed the driveshaft and greased them that was at 200 hours. Think they got to it when they replaced the PTO button by removing the instrument panel(s).
JD (and other tractors) should be using a flex joint like our Mercedes 240D had. No lubrication needed.

Same here, I have a cheapo gease gun from Advance Auto that pops right on, seems hit or miss.
I read about this swivel coupler from other members here at GTT. It goes from 0 to 90 degrees and is well made, in my opinion. It is the only grease gun end fitting that will reach and lock onto my driveshaft zerk fitting. I tried four other types with no success. My machine is a Gen 1 2025R, but it might be worth the $15 to give it a try on the 1025R. Got it from Amazon.

The 2018 redesign did away with the lower kick panel. It’s a solid piece from floor up

I still think someone should make a scene in front of JD engineers. For crying out loud, the older series tractors had driveshafts flying apart breaking stuff. Why they didn’t get think this through is beyond me.
Another thing I learned on this site is that the ends of these grease couplers can be adjusted to grip the zerks tighter or looser by rotating the coupler ends clockwise or counter clockwise.
