So my dad came over while I was at the office and decided to give me a hand with a couple of projects on the back 40, which was great. What wasn't so great was that he snapped off the parking brake lever/handle (which I am surprised is just made of cheap plastic). Right now I have a small set of vice grips to operate the lever/rod behind the dash. Has anyone ever replaced this item and do you need to take apart the dash to replace/fix?

Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like it's part number M142213 found here:

Bet you could replace it working from inside the engine compartment.
