Tired today of moving wood! Picked up about 1/2 pickup load of Rough Cut Cherry Wood 8-9' x 8" x 1" Boards and a bunch of other Exotic Wood pieces. Macassar Ebony is sure pricey stuff! Ended up with 4 - 6" x 6"x 6" black blocks, couple longer 1.5" x 3.5" pieces and other wood I have not figured what it is called yet. Finished moving the rest of the wood my Father in Law left me to my shop. Got some nice Oak chunks too which I needed to do something with 2- 12" x 1" x 10' clear grain boards I have. I figure I have enough hardwood now to last me a life time playing around. My shop was all cleared out and clean now it is filled again with wood to put up on the shelf's. Could be worse and be a kids stuff to store till they get out of school and find a job? My kid does that but a big building to put it in. Now I need to figure a project to use up some. Thinking of a cool looking rough cut Storage Box out of Cherry Wood. Clean the wood up some but leave some chacter to it but no splinters. Ebony is going to wait till I am better working with wood.

Pictures of the Wood

Here are pictures of the wood. 4 are Ebony and not sure about the other smaller Black ones plus the 2x4 one?? The blocks are (coated in wax) 6x6x6 and 8x8x4 plus the 2x4 one. This wood is super hard to cut let alone scratch the surface with your nail. Madagascar Ebony stickers was on a couple of the group of 4, the rest had no markings. 100_3439.JPG 100_3440.JPG 100_3441.JPG 100_3462.JPG I sliced some off the Black and Brown wood? Did pick up the little brother to the Report #5 Vice and got the #3 one now too. Both of these are made in England. 100_3446.JPG
