I have a Bush Hog DM90 hay mower that is a beast and weighs about a gazillion pounds. It is the kind that has the hex shaft that runs through each cutter head and then into the main gear box. It has broken between the main gear box and first head. I am pretty sure it is a 3/4 inch hex shaft but was wondering if anyone knows for sure or might have a Bush Hog contact that can say for sure the size and the length of the shaft. Bush Hog wants $250 plus shipping and I can get an 8 foot long shaft locally for about $175 if I can determine the size. I don't have my mower torn apart yet to measure mine.

Ok, the shaft is 3/4 inch hex and is 112.6 inches long. Seems UPS/FEDEX won't ship over 8 feet so I could not even order the part unless I wanted to pay freight charges of $150. I ended up going to local steel supplier and had him get me a 12 foot piece delivered to his shop for $187 total including shipping.
