It's all relative to what you will be cutting. Some will say that a 60" is fine. I, however, found that 48" is all my 1025 will handle.

I asked around and came on here researching and I went with a 4' bush hog for my 1023e
.I used it down at camp a couple weeks ago and it did outstanding with no real loss of power even up hills. Look up my thread from a couple weeks ago for some pics I took after using my 4' hog. You will need front ballast if you didn't already know.

I just brush hogged 5 acres today using a five foot brush hog on my 1025R and it handled it just fine. Most of it was taller than the hood of the tractor and had not been mowed for long time.
