Ok now I've done it. The front bar that hooks into the frame got bent and then the bolt snapped. I actually had to jack the tractor up to get the mower out. Anyone know what the part number is to replace it. I can't find my manual. If you have an exploded view that would help.

I know the MMM part number is 5315M

Have you tried looking at the john deere parts catalog on-line.
Google for John Deere parts Catalog and when you get in enter your tractor model number.
Go to the Sectional Index, select 85 Mower Deck and then select front daft arms for the 54D. This will show part numbers and a drawing for it.
Hope this helps.

I also need this part but cannot find out what it is called. It is the bar where numbers 11,12 are but that not what I need. Think it may be this.

31 LVA15683 Rod 1 ORDER LVA20039; ALSO ORDER (4) LVU2961 6 AND (2) R276819 Mid-Mower Rear Draft

Thanks everyone. You nailed it. I am sure I will get better at this. Not used to the Deere System but I get it now.

I guess I was so inexperienced at attaching the MMM that I screwed it up. I had the rear tiller attached and it just would not line up and it got bent. I actually had to jack up the tractor to get the MMM out from underneath. Now that I take the tiller off when attaching and detaching it works great.

Sorry for the delay but I am not there every weekend and took some time to get up there and fix it.
