Call me crazy but I have this idea and need some insight X590....

I just bought a new x590 and absolutely love. I have this crazy idea to make a rops bar for it to mount a lightbar and some bluetooth speakers. The x900 series in the UK has a rops on it and I love how it looks. I DO NOT need the rops to work as a safety device as all my property is flat. So, with that being said, I need to make or modify an OEM bracket for the back of this machine so that I have solid foundation to work off of. Does anyone know if this will bolt to the back of the 2021 x590

It looks like its the same bracket needed to mount the sunshade. The dealer tells me that suitcase weights will secure to the oem rear panel on my tractor without the need for any brackets so the link provided isnt actually going to work he said.

Doesn't solve the lights issue, but instead of a 'sportbar' I'd suggest spending the money on a set of noise cancelling bluetooth headphones....

What is all the light needed for.

X2.
Personally instead of putting a large heavy contraption over my head (and raising the CoG) I'd look for other options to mount the lights. If putting a custom Fab ROPS on a new GT is in the scope of modifications - Why not put flood/spot combo lights at all 4 corners?

While you said it's flat land, ROPS + no seat belt = Bad in the event of a mishap. Also don't know you or your fab skills (race car roll cage fabricator on the weekends?😉) Finally - I'm guessing the intent is 1% ROPS & 99% high structure for lights, so it's strength might not be important.

Lights needed for nighttime plowing of two driveways near a busy road that involves a lot of backing up.
Speakers wanted because I love listening to music while I’m out in the yard.
Plus, i think a tops looks cool on these machines as long as it’s proportional to the entire tractor. Just the x900 series machines

You could have an exhaust shop bend up Some small diameter tubing and weld it to some flat steel you could mount on the tractor. Or look at a harbor freight tubing bender. Should be pretty easy to do. Depends on your skill level and tools you have.

I was not sure which x900 model you looked at so I guessed. Not a ROPS, but is this what you had in mind? Parts say available to order

Advantage of lights mounted high in the front vs further back is less/no light hitting the hood and messing up night vision.

Crazy, no.... Glutton for punishment, yes - like me.

I have a x738 that I am going to try to buy an x940 ROPS for. The installation should be a straight bolt on as the x9 has the same chassis as the x7. Why am I wanting to do this? Because I have property on the side of a mountain and want to be protected as best as I can. My guess is that the ROPS adds about 200 lbs to the tractor, so not insignificant, but I will offset with beet juice in the tires plus other low CG weights.

I can see the need for better lights and if one thinks about this, a cab has lights on the front of the roof and I also have a light on the rear of the cab roof to see what's behind me that's connected to my backup lights.
if not wanting a cab, what Kyle stated about angle iron seems to be the best idea here. Easy to fabricate and customize.
Listening to music is a great way to run a tractor but noise canceling may not really cancel out the tractor noise. I have Bose noise canceling headphones and they don't work that great while Blowing snow or mowing.... Could be just the cab compounds the noise? They work great on a plane or when the wife starts but that's about it.. ;)

Please let me know how you make out with ordering the ROPS. I looked briefly online and cant even find a price for it. I know it wouldnt be a bolt on part on my 590 but I have no problem fabricating some sort of an adapter bracket/plate to make it work.

There's a 1025R ROPS for sale on CL in my area, not sure if, with some decent fab skills this might make it easier. (Ziglerville, PA: CL farm and garden - search a 50mi radius)
Get the frame for a snow cab?

i mounted lights on my brush guard. as far as rops go, if you just wanting to mount some speakers or what not while also having some extra functionality ive found the yard rack from big tool rack to be rather handy, but its not a proper looking ROP since thats not what it is designed to be. it comes in handy for moving tools and stuff around and does not interfere with mowing. you can even get a pin hitch part for it so you can haul otherstuff around with it on.

I never heard of a X900 until you mentioned it, and that it was for the UK. I didn't look into the parts catalog but if that's the case, where the ROPS is only for Europe or the UK, you're probably going to have a hard time getting it ordered through a North American dealer. I'm not saying all NA dealers, but most are not allowed by Deere contract to get parts for non-NA equipment.

If you really want it, best to start a discussion with your dealer and be up front as to what you want to do. I've heard that a dealer can sometimes get non-NA stuff, but they have to get Deere involved and have a good case as to why they need it, ie., prove the piece of equipment is non-NA and that it's in the states, say in their shop.... that type of thing.

Of course you could resort to seeing if you could buy it through a UK dealer and have it shipped here....cha-ching 💸💸💸

I would get some aluminum square tube stock. You can quickly TIG weld it or just make a couple of brackets to bolt it together once you cut the pieces to length. You can probably get everything you need at your local Home Depot or Lowes. That's more than rigid enough for what you'll need. You can run the wiring inside, and paint it whatever color you want. Easy peasy.

a bonus is that it also answers the need for having a 2" receiver if you don't have one already as part of the mounting hardware.
