Changing Transmission Oil if it looks good???

Hi,

My neighbor offered the use of his shop last weekend to service my 4720. I'm at 750 hours, so I did the engine oil and filter (50 hours early, but the offer was there), the fuel filter, and cleaned the air filter.

I was about to do the tranny filters and oil, but when I pull the plug on I noticed the oil looked perfect. It was crystal clear. I/we opted to leave it for a while, but I changed the spin-on suction filter.

Should I have changed if despite it's perfect appearance?? I keep hearing the Castrol commercials from when I was a kid talking about "viscocity breakdown"......

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, and hope you're all doing well.
