Chipping dirty wood
Was talking to woodland mills customer service they recommended I not chip wood that has been on the ground as dirty wood will dull the blades
they recommended chipping fresh cuttings
vast majority of my job is stuff that’ already down and been down for a few weeks/months

After a dozen years of running all manner of wet and muddy stuff through my Wallenstein I reversed, sanded off the rust, and adjusted the blades. I couldn’t visually see or notice any functional difference. I try to avoid gravel and rocks.
