Just wondering if this is possible. I read that doing this to a regular engine can harm any aluminum parts, but am sure this tractor has no aluminum in it. The tractor started it life as a duel fuel system but has been switch to straight gas. Whats the down side of this?

I can think of several pitfalls. Alcohol he's less BTUs per gallon so the engine will need a lot more fuel to run. The carb will need much larger jets in order to supply that much fuel. I don't know if they are available. You may be able to fab up a different carb if needed. The rest of the fuel system will need to be upgraded to handle alcohol such as your fuel valve which has a rubber diaphragm in it. Compression will need to be raised significantly to fully utilize alcohol's potential. That means custom pistons. I'm sure you can get custom pistons made. I don't know high of a compression piston can be made due to the spark plug being located in the block, not the head.

Why the interest in alcohol?
