D110 deck question

I had a problem with the belt engaging and found that the left side pulley belt/stop assembly was not bolted down and the stop was actually not allowing the pulley to turn. After tightening the bolt the blades engage just fine. Although... when I adjust the height of the deck to a lower setting, from high to low, the belt/blades slow down as the setting gets lower. The belt is actually getting looser as the deck moves down. I think the belt should get tighter as the belt is getting pulled away from the engine pulley...but it does not. The tensioner does not move as the deck goes up or down. Any suggestions?

If it's like my La110, the belt does loosen as the deck drops. The geometry of the lift and supports causes the deck to go forward a bit. I had to put on a new belt, adjust the engagement cable and put a new spring on the PTO lever.
One thing to also consider is that sometimes you can bend the bracket for the front draft arm below the front axle. This happens from the front of the deck catching things and pulling back on the bracket. So check your deck pitch and if it is excessive, you can adjust it up which can help. A tell tale sign is that you don't have to lift the deck a tad to slide the rod into the front deck bracket when reinstalling the deck. But yes, they took away the belt adjustment on your model so you either have to make it adjustable or replace the belt if all else fails,

I will look at the draft arm pitch and act accordingly. The belt has already been replaced... And yes the belt adjustment assy is not there...but...I could move the bracket more to the outside but fear too much would hinder a belt replacement in the future. Will let you know what I find. Thank you!
