I have D140 mower and just recently it started leaving a thin strip of grass just inside where the front tire rides. It does it on turns and going straight. The mower blades were new last July and I sharpened them in May and they cut good till a few weeks ago. I pulled the deck off and cleaned all the grass that was stuck in it and resharpened the blades and it still does the same thing. I also put a different blade on that spindle to see if it made a difference. The blades are all the exact same length so they’re not worn. I checked to see if the deck was level and it was. I measured from outside edge of outside blades to the garage floor and it was the same measurement. Any ideas what the fix would be ? Could the deck be bent ? It looks good but running out of ideas. Thanks for any help

Can you post a pic of the grass after making a pass?

Unfortunately I finished mowing just before I posted this but I can the next time I mow. It looks like something is mushing it down and leaving a 1/2” wide strip but I stopped and backed up and it doesn’t line up with the front tire or deck wheel.

I'd prop the machine up so that you can look at the underside of the deck. That's right about the right spot for a clump of dried debris to build up. If there is one there, it may be pushing the grass down preventing the blades from clipping it off. But that's just a guess on my part.

Ok thanks, I completely cleaned the underside of the deck and even pressure washed it so I’m positive there was no grass stuck underneath. Wonder if a spindle could be going bad ? Not sure why it would leave a strip of grass though
