My trailer (purchased 2 weeks ago) was certified at some point in 2017. I wanted a lunette ring for marginally better theft protection since most crackheads don't have a pintle hitch, and this is what I found when converting it over.


I had to use a torch to get the bolt out that stretched the bottom holes, so it's been like this for some time.

I'm going to see if I can find any indication of load rating off the coupler, but I kinda doubt it. It's one of the side-opening style that makes you get super close to lined up before it'll drop down on the ball (which in a way is somewhat theft-deterrent in itself).

12T Curt lunette ring won't have this problem. :laugh:
