can not find oil drain plug on 1983 318 .i now i dont have drain on side but where would it be underneath

I've never changed the oil on an early 318, but the parts book shows 2 options.

Plug on bottom on oil pan and also a valve on the side of the pan (shown on opposite side of pan from dipstick).
