I'm occasionally seeing an error code on the led in my 1026R instrument panel. Looks like HcFX where X is an upside down F or an uppercase E with the top bar missing. Nothing in the owner's manual.

As always, any help would be appreciated!

Hey Ralph,
When do you see this? Is it while the tractor is running or just when you turn the key on? The only thing I have ever seen on mine is when I try to start it in gear and it gives me that little reminder message....
I would like to know what it is also in case I ever get that code.:read

Only when I turn the key on. Alternates between the hourmeter reading and the error code

1000 series error codes

The JD 1026R and 1023E tech manual states "The error codes are displayed on the LCD panel to indicate a problem on certain outputs and the reasons for not being able to turn on the fuel solenoid. The error codes will be displayed for 2 seconds every 10 seconds as long as the fault persists, except for Fuel Solenoid OFF codes. Fuel Solenoid can be OFF, if during initial power up, PTO switch is ON or Neutral switch is OFF. The module displays PTOON when the PTO switch is active, and when the engine is not running. The module displays NeutOF when the Neutral switch is inactive, and when the engine is not running. At an instance, all the Fuel Solenoid OFF related messages may need to be displayed and overrides the fault codes."

CodeDescriptionNotes
NeutOF, PTOONFuel Solenoid OFFThese error codes scroll through one at a time when the Hold-in Output is OFF
LTFTLeft Turn Output FaultOutput is open circuit or shorted to ground
RTFTRight Turn Output FaultOutput is open circuit or shorted to ground
HCFTHold-in Coil Output FaultOutput is open circuit or shorted to ground
PCFTPull-in Coil Output FaultOutput is open circuit or shorted to ground

I think maybe your instrument cluster is goofed up. Has anything happened to it?:unknown: Tractor runs ok? A call to the service manager is in order I think.:bye2:

Very good info, Jason . . . but you don't seem to have the specific error code I am seeing. ;)

Instrument panel may be 'goofed up' . . .

Has had water condensation in it since day 1. Occasionally makes it difficult to read the hour meter. Talked with the service manager about this some time ago and he said we might have to eventually replace the instrument panel. Today when I talked to him, he agreed to research the 'error code' problem and said he might be able to fix the water problem by removing and replacing the clear bezel.

Tractor runs ok . . . I just want to be sure I don't cause any damage due to this 'error code' situation!

Looking forward to hearing from the service manager in a day or so . . . I'll keep everyone posted.

Having the same issue with mine, have not brought it up just yet but will be. No error codes on mine though.
Interesting . . . let me know what your dealer decides to do!

Uh oh. I went out of my way to order a 2012 machine though I had the option on 2011. From the sounds of it, some of the changes JD has made aren't going over well. I'm staying tuned for info on the RIO bypass, but not too much I can do about a poorly designed display...

Rockshaft, glad to have you on board! Nice choice in tractors. It will surely last you many years to come.

When you take delivery of your new tractor, be sure to post some pictures if you can. The forum would live to see it. We can also help you with the RIO issue. :thumbup1gif:

Thanks, will do.

I have a hauler (out of TN incidentally) who should be bringing it to me in about 6-8weeks. Sooner would be nice, but then again it was -5 degrees F this morning, and we have about 3ft of snow pack.
I already ordered a 3ph receiver, tow hooks, and have plans to build a short boom/arm hoist, custom ballast box, and adapt some JDQA plates for use with my current 60" atv plow.

Formerly I've owned a Simplicity garden tractor (too many implements to list), and a JD4310 TLB (with heated cab).

Cheers!

If you update your profile, (hint, hint) we'd know where your new tractor is going to work.:hi: Are you up in the frozen north?

Welcome aboard, Rockshaft. Glad to have someone from the far reaches of the frozen North. Whaddya' do with tractors up there anyway?

:focus:

Talked to the Service Manager yesterday. He cannot find any error codes that match what I am seeing and suspects the problem may be related to the droplets of water I see inside the instrument panel. He has ordered a new instrument panel and will call me when it arrives.

That should fix the problem . . . hope so anyway! :thumbup1gif:

Anyone seen this error code before?
"PrHeat Coil Fault"

My 1026r won't start now, the relays click spastically when I turn the key, sometimes the glow plug indicator light displays normally, but when I turn the key to start nothing happens. Sometimes I see the above error message on the LCD, sometimes it flashes something like "Pull Coil" but I'm not sure.

Dealer is closed for the weekend...anything I can check to see if a wire is loose ?

Thanks for any ideas. Battery has a full charge

Try taking the right side panel off. You will see the injector manifild and the solenoid. There is a wiring harness from the solenoid coil to a connector.

Is the connector near the bolt holding the ground strap to the engine?

Try moving the wires at the connector and off of the ground bolt while you try to start.

Mine hade a bad connection there and steadily got worse. Redid the connector and wires and it went away.
