My youngest son has a 2015 F-150 and I know a few members on here have these as well. I think the super duty has the same thing and somebody told me GM’s are doing it this way also.
The rear window has a hole in it with seals around it and slider just covers it in the middle and slides to the passenger side. It has a half inch by half inch piece of plastic with a steel track in it and that piece of plastic is just glued to the window. It looks like in the factory they use four or five pieces of double-sided tape that are an inch long and a quarter inch wide and then have a black rubber glue that holds it in place, until it doesn’t. His came loose coming home the other night so I read on the Internet a few ways to fix it. The one I liked best was hot glue. That held for one day. Then we tried hot glue and reinforced it with two part epoxy made for glass and plastic. That held for two days.
Today when it broke I sent him to Napa to pick up good two sided tape. Where the tape/glue goes is recessed a little so we used the half inch wide tape which almost brought to it flush. Then we put on the 7/8” wide tape over the 1/2” which covers the back of the plastic strip completely but not past. So really the half inch plastic piece I mentioned above is 7/8 wide. We put it on and pushed it in place. Easy Peasy and no mess. That is the ticket it is not coming back off. Here is the tape we used and I am telling you I think you could pull the truck out of the ditch with that piece now.
I hope this helps somebody else.
