Needed to install a couple of 100 foot rolls of galvanized mesh fencing, so I came up with this unroller to hang from my boom pole. Worked like a charm.

The rig consists of a chain passed through a pipe and then through a 2x8 on the bottom. It just hangs from the boom pole and allows the roll of fencing to spin while backing up.

THAT IS A GREAT IDEA! You are one clever man. I like to work smarter and not harder also. :good2: The really important thing is it was cheap.

Thanks for the post.

+1 Reminds me of the hanging Romex un-roller hacks for small electrical wire.

Thanks, but I'm not that smart. I'm sure I stole the idea from someone, but I just can't remember who. I watched a fence company unrolling chain link fencing with a Bobcat that had a rigidly-mounted version of an unroller on it that worked similarly.

I also used this method to unroll barbed wire off a 1300 foot long roll. Worked very well at unrolling that nasty stuff....
