Finally! Bought a New Tractor

Well, after decades of wanting one, and years of forum memberships, I've finally taken the plunge. I've ordered a new Kioti DK40SE, cab, HST, 2nd remote, KL401 loader with bucket teeth and chain hooks, Woods Quick Hitch, Woods 6' rotary cutter, and Kodiak 6' tiller. I hope this doesn't mean I'll be ostracized here! I do still have a LX176, after all, for the yard. Kicker is that I won't be able to have it delivered for about a year until our new house is completed. My daughter and son-in-law have purchased 12 acres in Tennessee, and will be building me a "Mother-in-law" suite along with their new house, to be completed about this time next year. The dealer is going to store my new baby until the place is ready, as none of us have any place for it now. I do get visitation rights, though! I will post pics after it all comes in, and more when I can actually use it.

Congratulations on the DK40 Fred! That's one sweet machine, you are gonna love it. :thumbup1gif:
Oops! Did it again!

Somehow I manage to write DK40SE every time, when it is actuall a DK45SE.. I went ahead with the purchase now to beat next week's price increase and the Tier 4 final totally new electronic engines next year.

Fred
Congrats on your purchase! :good2: You won't be ostracized here...if you paint it green.:mocking: Just kidding! You are going to appreciate having a tractor to do your chores. In fact you'll find more chores to do!:drinks:
Oh, then congrats on the DK45 :thumbup1gif:
I think you may be ostracized more for the comment "building you a mother-in-law" suite...with the name "Fred"............than having an orange tractor.

Congrats on the new tractor and we want pics!!!
Congrats over here as well! Only its the wrong color;) Just kidding, I think the Kioti DKs are really nice. Sure you'll be happy with it. Did you get a cab?

Congrats on the new tractor and we want pics!!!
I used the "MIL suite" term as descriptive only, who ever heard of a "FIL suite" anyway? At least folks have a good idea what I'm talking about, but I do agree with your sentiments!

Sure did get a cab! I don't have a date when it will get to the dealer yet, but will have to go down and get some pictures on the lot. I won't be able to get any action shots until next year, since the dealer is storing it for me until we get the new house built and move in. I wanted a Deere, but the fact that I cracked my noggin when I tried to get into the cab of a 4120 and the difference in price, no brainer. Looking forward to using it!

And I thought it was just me that hit his head getting in to the JD cabs:banghead::lol:.
Good luck on the new tractor, I would go  not to use it for a year.:drinks:

I didn't think the 4120 had a factory cab? Maybe a 4320? Or maybe I'm crazy:unknown:

Anyway, I don't know how you can hold off on that tractor for a year! Surely there's some place you can put it. I would definitely go crazy getting a new tractor that I couldn't use for a year!
Thanks, guys, for your respoonses!

Yes, I'm already going crazy that I can't use it for a year! If there was some way I could take it to Kansas with me in May or June, I'd be able to use it a lot at my friends' RV park and farm. Especially mowing and brush hogging. But since there is no adequate truck and trailer in my future (unless I win the lottery!), I'll just have to wait and go crazy!

I don't remember now whether it was a 4120 or one of the others, but I thought it was a 4120. Must have been a 4320!

Fred
Is there such a thing as a shot to help calm down a person who buys a tractor and can't use it for a good long while? If I was in your shoes, it would be tough to think about that nice purchase sitting elsewhere.

You may need to also ask the dealer another favor; allow you to get your mail there also. Better go ahead and ask about sleeping overnight too, because I have a feeling you'll be keeping the road heated up between your location and the dealer.

Congrats. Looking forward to the pics.
