D140 48” Deck
Threw a belt last week, finally got around to re attaching the belt.
So I attached the belt, fire up the mower and start cutting. Get a couple strips done, belt comes off again.
The belt looks pretty beat up, so I figure that’s the problem. Run down to the local Deere supply place and pickup a new belt. Get it run through the deck, fire it up, bam threw that belt off as well.
I check out what the internet has to say, it’s leading me to the spring on the tensioner pulley. I run back to the Deere supply store, get the spring.
As I’m removing the spindle and bracket the spring is connected to, I notice the bracket is almost cracked all the way through.
I call up the Deere store and ask if they have the part before I run over, they do! One more trip.
I install it and the spring and I’m back in business, what a day!
