First time mowing!

Hey GTT.

Last week I mowed my back yard and dialed in my height setting and I ended up setting my anti scalp wheels as low as they go. Yesturday I did the whole yard. All I can say is...what a pleasure it was cutting the grass. I really enjoyed my tractor. Last year I was mowing with a Husqvarna LTG2554...25hp Kohler v twin and a 54 in deck. It wasnt a bad tractor but my yard has a lot of slope to it so I needed more traction. However the deck on it SUCKED!!! It left grass clumps everywhere, didnt cut smooth...just sucked.

On the 1023, the 60 inch deck made the job go quick and the hydraulic steering made it effortless. Anyway, im just happy with my purchase...thanks for reading.

You have some odd looking green trees up there in Fredneck County:laugh:
60d mower bliss

I too had similar experiences with the 60 inch mower. I think the secret is the depth of the deck itself. The height above the blades permits better air flow and the result is no clumping even when mulching and the grass is nice and even. I have had many mowers over the years, including a 42inch deck on a John Deere x304 and none come close to the 1026r with the 60d deck!

Enjoy cutting the grass all over again! I too have some of those funny trees near my tractor when I am mowing!!

I usually have a few cold ones cutting the grass too... and I must say I am planning on cutting grass this weekend. I'll take no snow in Garrett County any day in March!
Great picture

Great post Starkey! That's how I feel about my tractor. What a difference huh? In fact, my neighbor loves how good my yard looks with the tractor, he hired me to cut his!:lol::lol::thumbup1gif: Gotta love that!
I mowed my yard today, the second time. I have a new yard and it's a work in progress. I come from a background of self propelled push mower and an old Murry with a 42" deck that I got from my Dad. My 62D is a dream to use on my 2320. I almost can't wait to mow again.:lol:

Pretty crazy winter huh? I miss Garrett county. My parents used to have a house on sang run road. I loved it up there.
