I went to hook up my air bag compressor today but ran into an issue. First they do not send out new trucks with an owners manual. You can download it easy enough but it is 711 pages and I am not going to have another manual like the tech manual for the 2038R. They do give a source where you can get a printed one but I am not sure if it is a nice book like usual or I will get 711 pages of printed paper like, well like the printed tech manual previously mentioned.
I went to my 711 page manual and it shows every dang option except upfitter switches. I mentions them and says talk to your dealer or go to the body builders layout book. I found it but it was marginally helpful. I did stumble on something and copied it to a word and then pdf since screen shots were not readable. Hopefully @Kennyd can put this in our technical library and put a link to it from this thread.
Here is the page I found. This appears to be accurate for 2017-2024 Super Duty Pickups. The pdf of it just makes it handier to keep.
All this being said it is a nice option that gave me built in switches with fuses and relays and pig tails to hook up to with more things than just the 6 switches and options to how they work.
The top console switches.
The fuse relay box that needs to be lifted up to find the pigtails.
Inside and no this fuse box is not shown in the owners manual either.
Neat thing about the fuse box is notice the 5 amp fuse. It has a movable base. If you have it in this position all the switches only work if the accessory or run position is selected. If you slide it over it will make switches 5 & 6 hot even when it is off.
The pigtails that come out the bottom of the fuse box. I wish they were about 2" - 3" longer.
They do a nice job identifying each at least.
I only needed to use Aux1 for the compressor but did put Aux2 into the plug end of a weatherpack connector so it is accessible later. I also put the Battery positive into it so if I run a wire for a battery tender it is ready to go. It is fused and always hot. I left one space open so if I needed it I did not have to push the pins out. One note; when you run the wire for the accessory make sure to make it long enough to allow picking up the fuse box in the future.
