When we saw the cold weather was coming in we made sure all of the hoses were disconnected from the faucets on the house and shop. It got down to 14.9*F last night. The shop only has roof insulation, but will hardley ever get cold enough to freeze the water line going to the faucet. The water line has insulation on it also. Well I got to thinking today that I better check the line and sure enough the outside faucet, which is a frost free type, wouldn't turn. The line has a Tee with a faucet inside also. It would turn on, but no water would come out. I checked the line and didn't see any bulges or splits so I used a propane torch to warm the pipe and after a minute I got water flow. I let it run for a few minutes until it had full flow again, shut it off , and turn the stop and waste valve to drain the above ground pipe. I guess I got lucky this time.
