Another question.

I found information that says that the new style Quick Hitch for the X Series garden tractors can be used with the mower deck attached, but the old style from the 400 Series cannot.
Is this a fact?

Since the new hitch doesn't backfit to the 4x5 series per that chart, that's probably true.

I was able to find pictures online of both old & new style hitches. The old style hooks in the same spot as the mower deck support & the locking pins are on top.

The new style hooks on top of the tractor frame & the locking pins are on the bottom.

I was looking at an old style, but I will try to find a new style one. I like the idea of being able to use the blade for a quick job & not having to remove the deck.
I did not know that was an option.

I passed on the older hitch from a 455.
Today I bought a used front hitch & blade that was used on a X485.
I got the hydraulic outlets installed & mounted the hitch, I like being able to use the blade without removing the mower deck. I am glad I went the newer hitch.
I did not get the valve that comes with a new hitch, but I found that it is not needed. As others have said, including the person I bought the hitch from, if you lock the mower up to the highest setting the the valve is not needed.
