Running the 1084 no load on the mower or 4052R. The belt disintegrated. This mower was purchased in August, is this warranted or not, seems pretty premature to fail so soon. Serial # is 3194 for the 1084. What do you Think? Thanks Barry

My opinion would be that if you can show low hours on the tractor, then they should cover it under warranty. The reason for the low hours is to show that you have not used it that much.

Parts manager says no. I am going to check with salesman. 36 hours on the 4052. Pretty low hours even if they were all put on mowing. I thought 12 months was bumper to bumper warrantee. I will let you know what happens.

Still waiting on the 1084 belt to come in. Ordered on nov 3, seems like frontier is taking their time on this one. Going forward their will be a spare in the shop.
i found out about frontier about how fast their parts flowed into the dealer also. heck that was 10yrs ago, they was that slow, i would of thought they could of speed ed things up by now.

and mine was only 3 or 4 wks old when the belt blew apart, would not cover it either. 2006 yr. I blamed my boy for not watching close enough and centered on top of an old tree stump, that used to be down by the creek, as why the belt broke.

wife took the boy's side. IIRC-that belt back then was pretty salty:gizmo: good luck, and yeah-probably would want a spare. i don't cause i have other mower's, so i can wait till it would come in. good luck.

Well the belt for my mower finally came in. It is good that I am old and more patient than I use to be. Mechanic put the belt on checking for reasons the belt to break. Evererthing looked ok so we gave it a spin. Ran smooth till pto was disengaged, belt got really loose and looked as if it would come off of the pulleys. I am pretty sure that.is what happened to my belt. It came off and got tangled up and disintegrated. Bad thing is I have no idea as to what can be done to prevent it from happening again. salesman said it was an issue with that mower. I wish he had told me this when I was putting my tractor and implement package together. I really want know till next spring as winter is here. Barry

You are a patient man. If the salesman told me that is a ongoing issue with that mower i would be in front office finding out about how they are going to solve that issue for me. Whatever it takes up to a new mower. If you wait till spring the saying "out of Sight, Out of mind" comes to me. You paid hard earned money for that mower and deserve to get a good working modle not one with issues. Sorry I need to calm down but I hate dealing with salespeople who brush me off. Good Luck Keep us Informed what happens:banghead::banghead:

No apology needed. I will make a visit to see the dealership real soon. I want to give him a chance to explain why he would sell me a mower with known issues. I have been a long time customer with this dealership and would expect them to be upfront. Thanks for your response.

Were you at full RPM when you disengaged or did you wind it down first? No that it shouldn't be able to safely be disengaged at working rpm but if you are stuck with it and can't figure out the problem, lowering the rpm first might help.

I was at steady rpm 2100-2200 cutting between my young pine trees. I always try to idle rpms from the tractor when engaging and disengaging pto. Tractor and mower were coasting as it was the end of the season with light growth. This area I am cutting is absolutely flat and very smooth. Previously farmed so no roots or mounds to run the mower into. I would expect this mower to take on anything my 60inch mm mower would. Very disapointed at this point. Wish I had two more months of grass cutting to see if this a fluke or continuous maintenance issue. The salesman stating that it had been an issue leads me to believe mine will be no different. I am waiting the fall harvest to finish so the salesman and the service center manager can concentrate on my little problem. Thanks everyone for your responses.
