Hi all. I recently came across a used frontier BB2048 box blade for $350. I have a 1025 SCUT and understand the 2048L would be a better option. For this price, however, do you think its worth going with a non-L box blade?

Jump on it! Ive used a 60" standard Cat 1 BB and a currently a 54" BB. Both worked just fine. I think the 54" is ideal but if your ground is hard the maybe the 48" is better. Either way, I would want the heaviest one back there, not the "light" version.

very good deal!!

I just bought a new frontier BB5048L for $550 with no tax.

I would buy it if it is in good shape, no repairs, and make sure the mounting pins/frame are not tweaked.

I bought a BB5060 ON CL for $400 from a guy who got as part of a package deal on a 3 series. He has paved drives and had never used it. The 1025r has no problem with it. I have ran all three rippers three inches deep on my forty year old gravel drive and filled the box with no problem. Dropped all five rippers to the deepest setting and ripped up a pasture, using it like a chisel plow to prep for tilling. Last weekend I used it and the Piranha tooth bar to clean and contour a drainage ditch that was full of saplings and silt to the point it wouldn't drain. It will drain now. With a BB weight is your friend go big.
