Shut off the 1025r today and heard a rattling noise near the fuel tank. After some vigorous testing (shaking) I think it is coming from the fuel gauge.

If I shake the tractor hard enough that I get the fuel sloshing around in the tank, I can see the gauge indicator bouncing around. But the arrow movement does not match up with the noise.

If I put my fingers on the fuel gauge while I hear the noise, I can feel little thuds that match up with the noise oscillations.

Any ideas? Should I be concerned?

The tank is about 2/3 full

The fuel gauge system has a spiral rod on it that a plastic float rides on, twisting the spiral rod to tell you how much fuel is in the tank. The rattle you are more than likely hearing is the float on that spiral rod and also the ends of the spiral rod on the stationary part of the fuel gauge. As long as the dial on the fuel gauge is still moving when you add fuel or shake the tractor, everything is good
