My garage has 16 light bulbs. 8 ceiling sockets and 8 sockets in the garage door openers. I had put 15W LEDS (100W Equiv.) in the 8 sockets last year and that brightened up the backside. A few years ago I had tried an LED in a door opener and you couldn't put the door down when the light was on because of RF interference.

Saw some bulbs a couple weeks ago at MENARDS for 10bucks a piece that were supposed to work in a door opener. Did a web search and found non interfering bulbs in 4 packs at a lower cost. They are also 15W LED's. Ordered one box of 4 figuring I would update the basement if they didn't work but no issues. Today the other 4 came so I have all 4 openers done. Wow it is so different, with the sockets on and the door openers on I can really see now, I went with the daylight white bulbs.

I can now light the whole garage up with 240 Watts vs. 1,600 Watts. That is a 85% reduction in power usage. I feel green today.
