This is a great little tilt bed trailer that, because of the design, doesn't maintain the tilted attitude without 'help' in some form( 2nd person,etc.). Having used lift struts in similar situations before,I decided the other day it was time to remedy the matter. I've used 2- 100lb force struts. They work great, requiring atleast 150lb down force to return the deck to horizontal(setting on the trailer edge when pulling or installing the pin is all that's required).
The strut mounts were fabbed from some scrap 2"x6" structural rectangular tube in the shop, the struts costing approx. $50 for the pair. An easy, quick, inexpensive remedy.
