Loosen the bolt shown with the red arrow and rotate the hook all the way to the left. Retighten bolt. It will then be completely out of the way of all moving parts.

Done. Right after the OP as I was looking at my pictures, this clue slapped me in the face.
This picture is to instruct the user to insert the tilt lock pin when using the snow blower. This is especially important for folks who switch between the snow blower and 54-inch blade. You don't want the snow blower angling left and right like is done with the blade.

Hmm. I didn't do that. I'll have to take a look at it. I mentioned above how I connected the angle cylinder to try to get it straight after the fact. It was actually a bit of a pain getting everything hooked up with it a little angled.
Definitely insert that lock pin when using the blower. You don't want the blower running at an angle. I can imagine having difficulty getting it all hooked up when not straight.

You' should try to buy a pin for that QH that is as close to original as possible. if that pin you bought isn't nearly snug, then you'll have slop. If that hitch moves at all it's going to bang back and forth and elongate the hole
Pretty sure that pin is 3/4-inch just like the one the previous poster purchased. The snow blower Quik Tach hitch is notoriously sloppy and has a lot of wobble in it. I replaced my locking pin with a 3/4-inch bolt and lock nut and it took all the slop out of the hitch. I don't use a blade so I wasn't worried about having to remove the bolt to accommodate the blades angling function.
