ok guys
if any of you have seen any of my posts, just after my purchase of my 2038r our home burnt. so this has changed my short term plan. was planning on purchasing a small tract of land (15 acres)that had a nice new machine shed shop on it already and purchased the tractor to maintain it, and start the property for an eventual home build. so now after the fire we arent going to be able to purchase anything and i am in a quandry
we live in a subdivision with 20 other homes
my current inventory is a 2015 x738 with 54 in deck and front blade paid off
2018 2038r with loader and mid mount deck with a loan
i know the owner or original builder of the subdivision is 82 and he plows the snow but for how much longer and id love to do it when he quits.
so here are my questions
i cant hardly justify the 2038 once i get all my landscaping done

will a 1025 and a front 6ft blade be able to take care of the roadway in here. it is 1.6 miles total down and back and 16 ft wide.
will it mow as nice as my x738?
here is what i am thinking
option A
get rid of both the x738 and the 2038 if the 1025 will mow as nice and would handle the snow removal (would also purchase a front blower as i am thinking of it now)
option B
keep the mower and sell the tractor and buy a tractor if i get the snow job
or i am open to any suggestions
i am leaning towards the 1025 if it will mow as nice i know it would handle just my snow needs
thanks

That road would be quite a chore for a 1 series with a real measurable snowfall IMO. If you knew for sure you were getting the task of keeping that clear I would keep the 2038, add the front 3 point and get FB366 or another comparable plow. If your normal snowfalls are are not that bad then a 1 series could probably handle it.

Hows You Property
is It all open?
Do You Have a Lot of obstacle to Mow around?
Because if that the Case You will not Be Happy Mowing with the 1 series.

Do You Mow right now with the 2028R and are You Happy with it the results of It Mowing? The 1 series Mow's Like a Compact

I have a X748 I did use for Mowing. The Cub Cadet XT3 took over the Mowing Last Year. Only use the X748 for Leave Pick Up Now. Other Then that the X748 is set Up with a 3point Hitch/Rear PTO and My 45 Loader

I also Have a 2025R TLB and a Mowing deck for It. I Mowed with it a few Time Had a 1025R before that also mowed with it a few time's don't Like either for Mowing compared to a X700 series

The 1 series will handle the Snow Plowing But Your current 2R is Probably better suited for it But Honestly I would at least keep the X700 series for Mowing duties and see about another tractor Later for snow Plowing if they want you to Take over the Plowing :bigthumb:

im 99% sure ill get it the problem is just when
im leaning towards keeping the x738 buying a blower for it for now and sell the 2038 when im done with it then buy what i need to do the job then. heck a 3038e would do as good as the 2038

My thought is to keep your 2038 and sell or trade the 738 for a zero turn mower. No tractor compares to the quality of cut and efficiency of a zero turn.
