Do you have plastic covers installed over the pulleys?

Yes but I remove them when cleaning deck just to get all the crap out.
There is the problem. I had the same issue with my X500/48". Junk was always packed under the plastic covers. I finally removed them and stored them in the garage. Now my pulleys stay clean as a whistle. If I ever sell or trade the tractor I will stick them back on. I vote to remove them and enjoy a clean deck. It's not like removing them is a safety issue.

Really? The plastic covers are what is trapping clippings? Interesting. I have that happen all the time and figure it can't be too good for stuff to plug up under the pulleys. I'll try removing the covers and see what happens.

That was my thinking as well. I had mine off and on a couple times and finally said screw it and now just leave them off. It's also easier to get to the spindle zerks with them off.

I use my air compressor. Blow tractor and deck off each time I'm done for the day. Never had the covers off. One side is a little easier to blow out because you can raise cover a little.
I use my leaf blower to clean off everything after each mow. At first it looked like the debris was being cleaned out until I removed the covers and saw a lot still packed in there.

Your covers seem to have a bit more room under them than on mine.

How often are you greasing your spindles? I always seem to get a tiny fine circle of grease around the indent in the deck.

Only once a year after I take it off tractor and clean it up in the fall. I only put about 40 something hours a year on it. If you put a lot of hours on it I would grease it twice a summer at least. I think manual says every 50 hours.
