It is that time again. Since we did a pretty good job of keeping ourselves on a single thread last year, I thought I would see if there is any interest in having another Drink Fest this year. Timing would be a Saturday afternoon/evening in June, possibly the second or third Saturday?

For anyone that is a new member since last year's event, here is how it works: Some of us get really cheap booze, and then we drink it, while cutting up with our friends here on GTT! It is sort of a drop in and have fun, as you choose, for the event, and drinking is NOT required. Drinking will, however, make some of my later postings more understandable, as the event goes on!

So, y'all let me know, if there is any interest for this. Maybe we can double this up, and try to have the most registered users online for the day, as well. We came closer than I thought last time! (Thanks Texkev, for letting me know!)

And for those of you out there lurking, see what a fun site you are missing out on by not being a member?!?! So register and get ready for all of the fun!

I wonder what the fine would be if I got caught shipping a dozen cases out to you? :unknown:

I've given serious thought to making a road trip.

I can buy it online, but shipping is insane. $25 for a case of beer, over $50 to ship it. That's no good. There's one distributor in Dalton, GA that sells it, a friend of mine in Chattanooga has helped me out with that before. Another friend of mine is a Marine whose unit is in Texas, he brings some back to Memphis every so often. It's a long drive, but what can you do?

Usually drink something else...

If you make the road trip, can send y'all back with some Lone Star and some Rahr! Rahr and Sons is a Fort Worth brewery.

You name the date and time...I'm in.

But I won't be drinking cheap booze. Life is to short to drink cheap whiskey.

I'll be supporting my local TN distillery - also know as JD (just not the green label....)

May just have to break out the Single Barrel....:drinks:

I actually like the green label JD, even better than the black label!

When we did this last year, some of us had been posting about the old, cheap booze that one could not find anymore, such as Ripple. Then we began noticing a few of them were still available, such as Boone's Farm. With thoughts of our teenage years, we thought it might be fun to grab some of the old stuff, and have an online "meet up"!

However, any booze or even no booze, is fine for anyone that just wants to come join the fun, and kick back with the online family here. I don't need an excuse to drink, and if no one else drinks, it won't stop me! :mocking: :fed:

Oh my FG, if I really go back to a teenage binge it will involve more than just cheap booze.... I am so past that so I'll stick with the cheap booze.

I am tentative. I can't plan for tomorrow, more/less a couple months out. If I do attend I will probably be sipping some Apple Pie.

Farmgirl, here is something especially for you, from your secret admirer. One of my favorites...it just says "Texas Gal" to me.

Oh, BTW, count me in. I may even cook up a slab of ribs!

I'm sure I'll cook up some good food for the fun! I wish we could meet on a back porch and enjoy friendship, food and booze, in person, but this may have to be the next best thing! I could get a friend's live band to hang out here too! Only good thing about not having everyone to my place, I don't have to clean house to get ready for the party! :mocking:

And you boys that claim to be admirers are much too kind! Thanks for the nice thoughts and words!

Jose Cuervo kicked my A$$ more than once. We haven't been friends in a long time. But I'll be FG's friend anytime. :drinks:

I'm in! Let me know the date! I'm not sure what I'll be drinking this year. I'll have to see what the liquor store has to offer.
