I was just gifted a 2002 GX85 in great shape. I'm just getting together the things I'll need to service the unit. Air filter, plug, oil, etc. As far as a blade goes, I know there are 3 different ones but having the bagger on the mower, I was wondering what is the best way to pick the mower up to change out the blade, or when I need to, change belts. Do I lift the mower up from the front or from the back?? Or lift it up level as high as I need to to climb under it like a car? Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I have a 2003 GX85 that I bought 4 years ago. I pulled the mower deck and changed the drive belt, mower belt and installed the high lift blade. I jacked up the front of the mower with a floor jack. They're a bear to work on because it's so compact. After the initial repairs I've done nothing other than normal maintenance. The bagger works great! As for when to change the belts, that depends on their condition.

Lift the front end up to change the blade. When it comes time for belts... They are a major PITA. As long as it moves and mows leave em alone.
On a good note, they do mow very nice. That single 30" blade does a great job. Throw it in gear and mow on.

Thanks

Thanks to all that replied. I probably won't do belts but the blade should be easy enough for me to do. Also I'll do oil changes and filter changes and general user maintenance. I've run the mower around my yard to get used to it. I'm still learning and have some angles in the yard that I have to learn to drive over as the mower feels a little tipsy to me which I know I'll get used to with future use.

Again thanks.
