Every morning and afternoon, a couple of buddies and I get together on a local 2m repeater to "escort" each other home. It helps to pass the time due to our long drives.

Tonight, I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in gathering on a DStar reflector some time. I would do HF, but I took all of my external HF antennas down. HF is just not for me.

If I was a Ham operator, I'd join. I had a cousin that used to be very active in Ham, but I never had much opportunity to hang around him and learn, and he met an untimely death due to an accident.

I haven't did much in the last couple years, but I might dust off some equipment!

I'm sorry to hear that. If you have a basic understanding of electricity and read a small book, you can whip through the Technician class easily.

Same here. I was idle for some time. After my mobile radio died, I decided to try DStar. I have spoken to many countries while out and about, such as South Korea, Japan, Venezuela, and Australia. All that can be had with a Tech class. I wish I had known this was coming before I got the Extra.

Y'all may be aware of this, but your call sign has the potential to reveal a fair amount of information about your station. Just something to consider.

I let mine expire a few years ago. I ran a Yaesu FT-8800 in the truck for many years, never had a home setup. I think I still have an Icom HT floating around here somewhere. I've thought about renewing it, but just haven't followed up.

Yeah probably not wise. I tried to edit the past but I guess that's not allowed in this forum.

EDIT: Interestingly enough, I'm allowed to edit this post.

You have 12 hours to edit your post here. Beyond that and it requires a staff member to edit your post. Let us know if want/need something edited. :good2:

You can edit your own post for up to 12 hours, after that it requires staff.

I fixed the call sign for you.
