Yes, they grabbed a piece of a broken bolt and I was able to turn it out after a Kroil test. It took until the next day but those work well. I'm not sure how long they will last, the ridges on the face of the pliers are sharp but seem to be damaged easily. Some of the ridges showed wear after the one bolt.
I have recently purchased these Knipex Twin Grips (82-01-200) slip joint pliers. I have not had to get after a damaged screw yet but I am ready. These also have a "V" shape in the jaws. They grip the sides of a nut as well as a round screw head with the jaws using the side or the tip. They are new and hard to come by. I ordered mine from Joe's Allstar Tools. I probably could have found them closer to my home but I like Joe so I just sent him a text. In my hands a week later.
