I built this roof many years ago,, her scars are from doing years of battle with the trees and bushes. The center hole in the ROPS was for a tiping bracket I made for a flashing strobe light so it would fall down instead of getting knocked off while being put away in the pole barn. The roof is pitched at an angle to give more head room while getting on the tractor..

It's top is made out 16 Gage sheet steel and 1 1/4" sq tubing. I removed the fender's hand holds and used their holes to mount the 1 1/4" pipe brackets. I didn't weld the roof's risers to the fender brackets because I didn't want the fenders to take a beating when going over rough ground, also there is Oak dolls down inside the fender brackets so the roof's risers don't hit steel to steel, the roof basically floats. :drinks:

I'm tired tonight so I'll be signing off for now, have a good evening everyone...

Good job. Did you think about running an angle support back to the ROP instead of supporting off the fenders? Just wondering.
Wayne I didn't want to make the top permanent or drill holes in the ROPs for brackets because I didn't know if the roof was going to workout, but the risers come in handy when I'm mowing ditches, they provide me a place to hold on where the ditch shoulders are steep. :)

EXCELLENT Tackit! :good2:

I too like to stay out of the sun and cool. I went the umbrella route myself.
Randy I tried umbrellas but in my situation they would only last a couple of years, the tress eventually tore em up. They work good though, I liked the horse and buggy type best. I don't like to be out in the sun either. I collapsed to the ground from a heat stroke and ever since I can't take the heat. Hydration and keeping out of the sun is a must for me now, gets worse every year like the doc said it would.

I started to do some touching up of the 855, got the rust off and primed the left side fender and step, tomorrow if it's not going to be a scourcher I'm planning on doing the right side. The ROPS gets hit with thorn bushes, brambles and limbs along the woods.. I have cut them back before but it's a big job and something else is always needing attention more. I'm just touching up the rusted parts for now, It's only surface rust so It's coming off easy. I have to remove the decals off the floor's center panel so I can paint it. I hope I can replace them but if not they still need to come off. I'll have pictures tomorrow night of the power brushing and blending pad taking the rust off and the primer job if I work on it...

Tomorrow I need to take the Van in to have the oil and fuel filter changed and have the tires rotated and ballanced, should have it back Tuesday sometime.

I hoping the Code reader and the tools start showing up this week. I'm eagar to take the IAC off and clean it and see if my truck uses a MAF sensor.... I won't be able to tell until the two air duct hoses are removed from the throttle body.

I'm going to buy a subscription to Mitchells On Line Motor Manuels when I start on the Van... it's the only one I've found so far that goes back to 1994 Ford F150 econoline Vans.
